Remains Found Semi-Buried in Panama Identified

In Panama, a team of forensic experts from the Public Ministry (MP) has identified human remains found semi-buried last Saturday in the Corozales area, in the district of La Chorrera, as belonging to Alcibiades César González Morán. The information was confirmed by the senior prosecutor for Homicides and Femicides of the Panama West regional headquarters, Luis Martínez Sánchez. The last time González Morán's relatives saw him alive was on March 19 when he left his home located in the Naos area, Barrio Balboa corregimiento, in the district of La Chorrera, Panama West province. The body was identified through the necrodactyly procedure, with the purpose of comparing the corpse's fingerprints with the record kept by the Electoral Tribunal. As for the possible cause of death, the prosecutor said he is awaiting the result of the autopsy protocol, which will specify the cause of death, as it was in a state of decomposition. Alleging that he did not want to affect the investigation, Prosecutor Sánchez avoided confirming whether the vehicle found abandoned a few days ago in an uninhabited house in Peña Blanca, Playa Leona corregimiento, in La Chorrera, belongs to the victim. Traces of blood were found in this vehicle, which are being analyzed to confirm whether they correspond to César González or not.
